You Said We Did

“We can’t get through on the phone in the morning”

We have reduced the number of people who can be in the queue from 30 to 8. Our internal audits show significantly reduced waiting, though people may need to redial at the busiest parts of the day. We have reopened Online appointment booking too which will help.

“We can’t call at 8am,how can we book?”

Patients are now able to book online to see the GP, Nurse, Pharmacist, and HCA for certain conditions. We hope that this helps all patients to have equal access including those on the school run and at work at 8am.

"We want more face to face appointments”

We now have approximately half of our GP appointments face to face. The GP can call people into surgery if they wish to see them. We also have a mixture of Face to face and Telephone appointments for our nurses, Physician associate and Pharmacist. Some patients have come to like telephone consultations as they can be at work or not need to travel in.

“Are you doing Flu and Covid vaccines this year?”

We will have both flu and covid vaccine clinics this Autumn.

"We do not want to wear a mask anymore "

The practices has looked at the Guidelines nationally and because we have many vulnerable patients attending surgery and also some vulnerable staff we will continue with masks for the time being to keep us all safe. We have removed the social distanced seats as face to face clinics have opened up

WE Did

“We are waiting too long on the phone in the queue”

We have reduced the number of people who can be in the queue from 30 to 8. Our internal audits show significantly reduced waiting, though people may need to redial at the busiest parts of the day.

“We are told in the phone message that we can book on line, but we can’t”

We have looked into this with the telephone provider and have found a small glitch where this was still being said. This has been removed. We cannot offer online appointments at this time as  we need to be sure who is attending the surgery due to covid 19, and who is the most appropriate clinician to see or talk to.

“We want face to face appointments”

We were one of the first practices in the locality to offer face to face without a clinician telephone triage first. These appointments are allocated by the reception team based on strict criteria to ensure that you see the appropriate clinician for the appropriate condition whilst keeping us all safe.

“We want covid vaccinations in the practice”

We are running one or two clinics each week for Covid vaccinations and we have also been out  to the care homes and some housebound to support the Roving teams.
